How do I listen to GremlinRadio.com on the iPhone/iPod Touch?

This is pretty simple actually. You will need the SHOUTcast app from the app store. Its FREE too!1) Go to the app store and search for "shoutcast". Find the app "AOL SHOUTcast Radio" and tap it.2) Tap the "Free" button near the top right.3) Tap the "Install" button now where the "Free" button was.4) The SHOUTcast app should now install on your iPhone/iPod. After it installs, run the app and you should see genre screen below.5) Tap "Search" in the bottom right. Type and search for "gremlin" to find the station. You should see something like the results below.6) Tap the 64k stream to listen. Tap the star in the top right corner to add to your favorites.7) At the bottom tap "Favorites" and you should now see GR listed for quick access later.NOTE: If you would like to play high quality station streams (ie. 128k MP3) on your iPhone/iPod Touch through the SHOUTcast Radio App, then you will need to enable high bandwidth streams by going into your Settings. You will only have to do this once. You will probably need to be on WiFi to enjoy 128k streams on your iPhone/iPod.To enable high quality streams on the SHOUTcast Radio App:1. Tap on the "Settings" icon from your home screen2. Flick down to the "SHOUTcast" settings. Tap on the "SHOUTcast" Menu3. Tap the switch for "Allow hi-bit streams" to ON4. Exit out of the Settings screen by tapping on your Home button and return to the SHOUTcast AppYou should now be able to play high quality SHOUTcast Radio streams over WiFi.

How to listen on a Java capable (incl. Blackberry) with radioBee software

How to stream GremlinRadio.com for free from your Java capable phone. Many phones are Java based and radioBee is a Java program that can work on all Java based phones. Not all phones have the capability to stream though so you will have to try it and see. This has been found to work on the following devices:BlackBerry Pearl (1)BlackBerry 8830 World Edition (1)It has been found to not work on these:LG Vu CU920 (1)BlackBerry 8320 Curve Titanium (1)Please report successes/failures so we can list them here.First: make sure you have an unlimited data (Internet) plan or a pretty big plan. Streaming music is a constant download and you will pay for the heavy traffic if its not on your plan.Second: open your phone browser and go to http://m.radiobee.com/. Go to the download link then choose a version of radioBee for your phone.Third: once you have the program installed you will need to open it of course, hit your phones menu button scroll down to ADD NEW STATION (not search) put the IP address and port of the stream (http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx). The IP and Port addresses of the streams periodically change. You can check with us what they are or you can retrieve the IP:Port addresses from Winamp/Windows Media Player when tuned into the stream you want.Under station status make sure you put BEST RADIO EVER because its the truth and youll be able to find it easier when its in a list of other stations (which you can delete out all the other stations from the list so you only have one choice (GremlinRadio.com)) now it should go back to the home screen depending on version.. Hit your phones menu button again and choose favorites by going to a station from here hitting your phones back button on selected station you should get the choice on deleting that station or not (which it does come with some garbage preprogrammed stations)In menu put your curser over gremlinradio.com or BEST RADIO EVER if your like me click your menu button and click select station.. it should go to the home screen again wait a sec while it buffers and wall-la you got GremlinRadio.com on your hip!!!Hitting end will close the program turning off the music. If you get a call it will bump you out to your phones incoming call screen stopping the music and your texts will ring on top of the music so its great because you wont miss anyone.I have noticed a few minor glitches but all in all this is a very simple basic program without any bells or whistles which is great because the smaller it is the more your room phone has for the stream. For additional help with radioBee go to www.radiobee.com.THANKS TO FRISKIE FOR THIS INFO

How did GremlinRadio.com come about

"That Guy"I started streaming about 2000 because I could not find any good breaks station online. There are more now but back then I could not find any. So it started out like this. I was desk jockey at day (disc jockey on the weekends) working at an engineering company doing some CAD drafting. I was bringing in CD's to work so I'd have something to listen to. In the mornings I'd pick out about 5 CD's that I was in the mood for. That was okay but I quickly realized that what I wanted to hear in the morning was not what I wanted to hear 2-3 hours later when I really woke up. The more awake I was the faster and harder the music became. Especially on Friday. TGIF! I thought to myself, I'll just bring in my whole CD case which held 300 CD's. That case is an aluminum case, like small suitcase. Well, I did that for a week or two and people were looking at me funny. I was "that guy" with the suitcase....that was awkward. I realized that I could not continue to bring in the metal luggage everyday. I had to figure out something better."Tech Geek"I started to think...it would be really cool if I can just listen to my music over the internet from my house. Then I would not be "that odd guy". I did a little research and discovered some people where using Winamp to stream music. The software needed was really simple. Back then I had cable internet with Excite@home. It was of course much slower in those days. I had 128k outgoing bandwidth. That is not much but it was enough to send out a stream or two at a low quality. Certainly not as good as I have now. I thought to myself, hey, I am tech geek, this would be cool and a fun thing to do. So I recorded a bunch of my CD's, setup the stream and whammo! I had my own personal Internet radio station. Down the road I started adding things like the request capability so I can control my songs. It worked really good for one or two people. Good enough to solve my problem.“Spread My Addiction”My personal station worked really good. I thought I should share this with friends so I created a web page and then I found one of those lame free domain names so people could find me online. The domain name was djgremlin.mine.nu. It wasn’t the coolest but it worked. I was official, I was online, I was Gremlin Radio. Well, you know how hobbies can be….they need money. Also at the same time I paid for my first stream server company to host my stream so I could have more listeners. You cannot do much with only two slots or so for listeners. So the added stream server really allowed me to grow with listeners. After about a year or so of operation I had regular more listeners and went big time with my own domain name. Sep. of ’02 GremlinRadio.com was on the map."Lagniappe"For a little humor, check out a snapshot of the old djgremlin.mine.nu website here djgremlin.mine.nu. I had 3 DJ’s on the station and only 284 songs…. Wow.Here is another entertaining archive snapshots after I upgraded to GremlinRadio.com…boy did it grow quick.Hope you enjoyed the history.Kipp

How do I post images in my message

When posting large images with the IMG code you can add a maximum width so the image will display properly by adding a "width=xxx" property to the IMG tag. It would be something like this...
[img width=400]someimage.jpg[/img]
My recommendation is that you post large images (such as flyers) as attachments instead. The reason for this is that if the image is very large, it will automatically be scaled down to a more appropriate size for the forums. The scaled down posted image will be linked to a full size image that you attached as well. You get the best of both sizes with attachments.
